Welcome to Hoi An !

Hoi An offers you an inimitable glimpse of the classic Asian culture. The Old Town retains the true essence of Hoi An of yore. The relics here are true heirlooms of the city's Golden Age from the 15th-19th century. Its well maintained structures are a rare sight in today's world where renovation and redesigning has changed the face of most ancient cities. Get a taste of this intriguing world, quite worthy of its World Heritage Site status bestowed upon it by UNESCO...

Hoi An, once called Faifo, was an international port city, flirting with the west and drawing traders from all over the world !

“Great place to stay”
We stayed here with friends for 2 nights and had a great time. Hoi An is a great place to stay and this hotel is very close to the town and within an easy bike ride of the beach. The breakfast was the best choice we had while in Viet Nam, self service have as much as you want style. This hotel also has a swimming pool on the roof which was an excellant way to cool off and relax before going out for the evening. Staff were friendly and helped us sort out a taxi to My Son very early one morning to arrive with the sun rise and miss the tour buses. Excellant way to see My Son almost had the place to ourselves. This hotel also has free internet use which we took full advantage off.

“excellent value for money, NICE furnitured and even a rooftop pool !!! ;-))”
The hotel is very nice furnitured and so are the rooms.. even those without window at 20USD have a very tasteful wooden interiour, a big and nice bathroom... TV, fridge, aircon.. are clean and quiet. I liked the hotel very much, the included breakfast buffet style was also very good and the staff was outstandingly helpful and nice (for example helped me about the delayed bus departure... even though they knew it was not booked through them ;-)) Only one remark I have to add about previous reviews: There I did read "that Vinh Hung 3 would be at a more quiet road, whereas the Vinh Hung 2 would be at a busy one"... actually the two are pretty nearby each other (same road) and the difference is that #2 has two roads, one on each side. So I guess in both cases if you don't like noises, make sure to check the room first for noises and towards what road...
At #3 I had a room without windows which was totally ok, not damp at all...
I can recommend this hotel just like all the other previous reviewers without hesitation... Only if HoiAn is a town where you wanted to stay longer, is up to you :-P For me, it was okay to arrive at 11am and leave again at 8am next morning. But for sure not cos of the hotel... cos HoiAn is a bit touristy to me.

“Unsure where to stay in Hoi An?”
Mu wife had 5 nights here in Hoi An at Vinh Hung 3 Hotel. It is a 2 minute walk to the Old Townm yes we could have saved US$10 being a few kms out but so what., we are on hols and $30 US a night was fine. We ate over the road most nights for A$10 icluding a large Saigon so how dan you complain. They gave us a a free meal at this flash rest in the Old 1/4, 8 courses for nix and a free trip to My Son, so great value here. They have a pool to relax and the breaky was buffet style and enough to feed the Russian Army( and quite happy for you to make your lunch and grab some fruit. Hot showers in a private ensuite. Free internet, but no Skype. Bikes for hire over the roadm 1$US a day-esp to go to the beach. Hope this helps. Staff were most helpful and friendly.

A little piece of paradise !
My daughter and I stayed at this wonderful place for 5 days (including New Year's Eve). Everything about this place is delightful. All the staff were extremely helpful and always very happy. The front counter staff arranged all our tours which in themselves were wonderful. The free buffet breakfast everyday was delicious and the food that was provided in the restaurant/room service was excellent - along with the service (and smile). We had a river view room which was spectacular. It was amazing sitting on the large verandah watching all the boats come and go. The room was large, airy and clean. Out the front of our room was the pool and it too was well maintained. On New Year's Eve, the Vinh Hung hotel chain in Hoi An put on a free banquet for all of their guests staying at any of the hotels. The Vietnamese people are absolutely wonderful and they really know how to party and make you feel welcome. The only minor niggle was that the lady who cleaned our room wasn't too good at it but her personality and smile made up for any shortfall. The resort is only a short walk (or boat ride) to the Hoi An township which made it very easy to immerse yourself in the culture or just relax in your room. All in all, I would highly recommend this place to anyone. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer

Inexpensive luxury!
- If you are looking for some luxury in Hoi An, this is the place to stay. You will be greeted in reception with a chilled wet towel and a cold drink and that is just the beginning!
- The rooms are clean and plush with nice touches like bathrobes and slippers. We had use of a (free) private boat to take us into town (even though it's only a 5 minute walk away)! The breakfast is gorgeous with a full range of traditional Vietnamese food, pastries, fresh bread and pancakes. When we stayed, the (immaculately clean) pool was deserted - we were the only people there all day.
- The staff are attentive and speak very good English. I would highly recommend this hotel, it's great value for money too, we paid $48 for a twin room.

Do Not Confuse the Resort with the Hotel of the same name!!
-This property is located 10 min. walk from the center of town; in the residental area on the river. The resort is lovely - a respite from sightseeing, heat & humidity - whether in the pool, getting a massage (highly recommended) at the spa, having a drink at 1 of the many outside bar counters or strolling around the property. The rooms & baths are large & clean; all the staff friendly & helpful.

Beautiful Hotel in the Old Quarter!
- Fab location in the quiet Old Quarter. The hotel has 2 traditional rooms (Chinese Rooms), one of which we stayed in, and several newer, modern rooms at the back. It was a real treat to stay here. The room is decorated in a traditional Chinese style with a private balcony overlooking the street. Michael Caine had these rooms as his dressing rooms when he was filming 'The Quiet American'! Breakfast is taken 2 doors down at a lovely restaurant, and is a big help-yourself buffet. Highly recommended.

Vinh Hung 4 - Relaxing and beautiful resort!
- My mom and I stayed at this gorgeous resort for 2 nights - June 25 & 26, 2006. After spending 4 nights at Lang Co beach resort, we were recommended this resort by the staff at Lang Co. I found pictures and reviews on Tripadvisor (my bible) and we decided to book for 2 nights. Just to give readers an idea - we are Vietnamese and I have not been back to VN for over 25 years. I'm in my 30s and was from Saigon and have not traveled up Central/Northern Viet Nam before, so this was our first trip to the Central/Northern VN. I've traveled extensively both for business and personal; and stayed at many 4-5 stars hotels/resorts all over the map.
- The lobby was pretty spacious and the internet area was off to the side of the lobby. The ground was gorgeous and clean, lush green everywhere with beautiful flowers! June was very hot so the pool was a welcoming site! It was not busy during our stay and the swim-up bar and 1.50US for a beer was a HUGE bonus! Vietnamese love their skin to be white but since I live in a cold country and crave the warm rays, I was out there sunbathing and swimming with several fun Australians! We opted for the river view room although it was a little more expensive, it was well worth it. There was a balcony with 2 chairs and a table, perfect for drinking tea/coffee and just relaxing with a good book. It was quite serene with the river view and occasionally you can hear a "putt-putt" sound of a fishing boat or two up and down the river. Our room was spacious and clean although the bed was harder than a rock! I like my mattress firm but this was beyond firm! However, it wasn't that bad to sleep on and we didnt have a sore back the next morning. We had a small TV with a few English channels and some movie channels, tea/coffee making area and a fridge stocked with soft drinks, 2 large bottles of water and beers with a whopping price tag of 1.00US each or less!!! The bathroom was quite spacious and has a Jacuzzi tub! There's an in room safe and AC - although the AC wasn't cold enough, it was ok since we weren't in the room the whole time anyway. There were a few tiny aunts along the balcony doors so if you really hate ants, just ask the front desk to spray for you. Just dont keep any sweets on your tables or they will find a way to get there! The breakfast buffet was yummy with all different types of food and fruits. Vietnamese style - soups and the likes or Western style omelet, scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, etc. There were lots of fruits and baked goods to satisfy every palate and also some awesome coffee and tea. If you'd like to have Vietnamese tea or coffee, just ask, service was always with a smile. The restaurant was very clean and spacious. We chose a table next to the door opened out to a beautifully kept ground and the view of trees, flowers and river. There were table and chairs all around the river view so you could have your morning coffee/tea there after breakfast/lunch. It was quite serene and such a relaxing atmosphere!

Wonderful Place to Stay!
- We stayed four days at the Vinh Hung Resort (No. 4) and found it to be a very very nice place to stay. The grounds are beautiful and the staff was very helpful and gracious. The room was large and the nice young lady who cleaned the room made hearts out of flowers and put them on the bed. The hotel has an unusual Happy Hour in which they provide samples of the local foods. Huge helpings and it was all free and the food was very very good (you can plan on skipping dinner). The walk to downtown Hoi An (about 10 minutes walking very slow) is very interesting along the river where there are many many restaurants and most have draft beer at 3000 Dong a glass (that comes out to about 20 cents US). Right out side the hotel gate are laundry services and I would recommend Miss Ha's Laundry on the left as you exit. If I were to return to Hoi An I would stay at the Vinh Hung Resort. It was very very clean, very quiet, very secure and the staff very very nice!
